Do you have a passion for building secure, highly scalable software delivering services to many millions of users across the globe? Have you mastered the intricacies of building and maintaining high-performing NoSQL database systems? If you answered “yes” to these questions, let’s talk!

Responsibilities

  1. Install, configure, and maintain NoSQL databases, particularly ScyllaDB and Cassandra.
  2. Monitor the performance of the databases and identify and resolve issues and bottlenecks.
  3. Plan and implement database backup and recovery procedures.
  4. Work with development teams to design and implement database schemas and data models.
  5. Ensure the security of the databases by setting up user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
  6. Optimize the database for high availability and scalability.
  7. Provide technical support to developers and troubleshoot any database-related issues.
  8. Develop and maintain documentation related to the databases and their configurations.

Requirements

  1. A university or college degree in information technology or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  2. At least 3 years of experience in NoSQL database administration, particularly with ScyllaDB and/or Cassandra.
  3. Strong knowledge of NoSQL database concepts and architecture.
  4. Experience maintaining infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using tools like Salt, Ansible, etc.
  5. Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems and shell scripting.
  6. Proficiency in database performance tuning, troubleshooting, and optimization.
  7. Familiarity with database backup and recovery procedures.
  8. Understanding of data modeling and database design principles.
  9. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  10. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  11. Fluency in English is mandatory; additional languages such as German are a plus.
  12. Experience with other NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB, MongoDB, or Couchbase (preferable).
  13. Familiarity with cloud infrastructure providers like AWS, Azure, or GCP (preferable).
