Job Summary
As part of our Professional Services Consulting team in DACH, we seek candidates with Payroll Process / Operations experience and ideally some SAP PY / SFSF ECP configuration experience to join our Professional Services DACH Payroll Academy program 2024. The program includes regular learning blocks, coaching, and hands-on work on projects or maintenance (AMS) for existing customers. The goal is to develop payroll consultants capable of leading SAP PY / SFSF ECP implementation projects and supporting customers with incidents and change requests related to payroll modules and processes.
Collaboration in English with our Service Center teams (e.g., in Granada, Spain) is a key aspect of the role.
Future career prospects include expanding skills within SFSF Time Tracking or other SAP / SFSF or Alight (and/or partner) solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Within Alight Payroll Academy
- Get certified in SAP HCM Payroll and/or SFSF Employee Central Payroll
- Complete certifications and trainings as scheduled in the program timeline
- Participate actively in internal SAP Payroll trainings (local and supported by Granada Service Center)
- Share payroll knowledge and experience with the group
Customer Assignments
- Lead workshops with clients on payroll topics
- Support Sales / Pre-Sales during Due Diligence Workshops for payroll with prospects
- Analyze client requirements for the PY module
- Implement customer requirements in SAP HCM PY or EC Payroll modules (with support from technical consulting teams)
- Create functional documentation and workbooks
- Assist with Data Migration, especially for master data and wage accounts
- Support Testing Cycles (Unit, System Integration Testing, UAT)
- Coordinate cross-workstream activities (e.g., in hybrid EC, SAP Payroll projects)
- Handle incidents within AMS for existing SAP PY / ECP customers within SLAs, supported by team members as needed
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experience
Essential
- Solid knowledge of Payroll Operations and processes for Germany, Austria, and Switzerland (Lohnbuchhalter, Payroll Admin experience)
- Affinity for Customizing / Configuration and initial experience in these areas
- Fluent in German and English
- Client-focused with a good understanding of client needs
- Positive attitude and collaborative mindset
- Motivated to develop skills alongside customer assignments
Preferred (but not essential)
- Understanding of software development lifecycles in structured projects
- Experience with SAP Payroll maintenance and support
- Knowledge of SAP Reporting tools (query, wage type reporter, etc.)
- Understanding of post payroll processes (e.g., B2A manager)
- Experience collaborating with client’s workers council
