We’re building an AI-native platform to reinvent the €20bn+ German tax advisory market from the inside out.

Instead of disrupting from a distance, we’re acquiring an established, successful tax advisory firm and rebuild it with technology at its core. The platform will then be used to consolidate the market and build a leading professional services firm. This is your chance to join as founding engineer / technical co-founder and lead the technical build from day one alongside the CEO and COO with direct equity, true ownership, and deep impact.

The Venture

We're second-time founders with a track record: previously scaled a VC-backed platform to 9-digit annual revenue and raised capital from top-tier investors. Now, we’re applying those learnings to one of the largest and most underserved B2B markets in Europe by combining AI, process automation, and M&A. This is a rare opportunity to build a real full-stack AI company in a profitable, regulated industry.

• A data infrastructure that coexists with legacy systems like DATEV, gradually becoming the new system of record/system of action
• Process intelligence, workflow automation & AI agents to transform how professional services are delivered
• A unified advisor interface to cut noise, automate manual work, and surface what matters

As the technical founder, you’ll shape and build our backend-heavy architecture from day one with a clear path to long-term platform leadership. Your focus will be on robust system design, data integration, and legacy system interfacing.

• You will build and own our backend-first platform (Java and/or Python), designed for modern cloud-native deployment
• Develop integrations with DATEV with persistence and pragmatism
• Design scalable APIs and pipelines that enable structured data flows and future AI modules
• Lead the technical MVP: advisor cockpit, internal workflows, and early automation tools
• Collaborate with domain experts to deeply understand pain points and then codify them into clean backend logic
• Lay the groundwork for a modular platform with strong process and data fundamentals

You’ll be supported by freelancers, data specialists, and operational co-founders committed to building with you.

• Are a backend-leaning engineer with strong experience in Java (and Python)
• Have worked in complex integration environments and enjoy untangling legacy systems
• Know your way around APIs, cloud infrastructure (AWS), and data pipelines
• Are hands-on and comfortable building the first version yourself
• Are excited by the challenge of making broken systems better, not just building greenfield apps
• Speak German fluently (C1+) and are comfortable navigating a regulatory and tax-heavy context
• Bonus: You’ve worked in or around DATEV or similar enterprise ERP/finance systems
• Experienced co-founders: We’ve built & scaled technology ventures before
• Real business: Profitable from Day 1 with a proven model, strong cash flow, and direct access to customers
• Founding role: Shape the platform, the culture, and the engineering stack with equity and true ownership
