Security inspires you? You work on cutting edge security technologies and are involved in the development of the newest generations of security products? You are keen to apply your technical know-how and leadership skills to run the certifications of our innovative security products? Then you are the right person to be one of our Principal Engineers for Security Certification. This position is part of Infineon’s Technical Ladder Career Path: a special career path for those who share innovative ideas, reveal comprehensive technical knowledge, show thought leadership, possess problem solving abilities and are able to create business value. This position can be filled in Munich or Augsburg.

In your new role you will:

  • Conduct the security certification of hardware and software products recognized internationally
  • Act within interdisciplinary teams to collect security specific information to derive certification scheme specific documentation
  • Enable and support external security evaluations
  • Understand security concepts and mechanisms within product families to lead technical discussions with security evaluators and authorities
  • Organize and run joint audits with external evaluation laboratories and authorities
  • Support customers and customer evaluation laboratories in their certification activities


You have the ability to comprehend complex topics and consolidate into the big picture by using your good technical and logical skills. You bring with you an openminded approach and very good communication skills. You are interested in learning about processes and willing to discuss and optimize accordingly. With these competencies you are prepared to motivate others to reach a common goal.

You are best equipped for those tasks if you have:
  • An engineering degree in software development, microelectronics, or similar technical fields
  • At least 3years of experience with microcontrollers or security certifications
  • Basic knowledge of security products
  • Understanding of certification processes (e.g. Common Criteria, EMVCo, FIPS) or other type approval schemes would be beneficial
  • Excellent knowledge and experience in the development of formal models like for instance modelling the semantics of programming languages and in proving their safety or security properties
  • Extensive experience in formal methods as part of an internship of a master thesis in this area is highly recommended
  • Very good English language skills in verbal and written communication
