Head of Research and Insights

Role Overview: The Head of Research and Insights is an individual contributor role responsible for managing research and insights at Management Events. This position is ideal for an analytical team player skilled in blending quantitative and qualitative research methods to deliver clear, business-relevant, and actionable insights in various formats. The candidate should understand technology trends as our client base includes top CXOs in IT, Cybersecurity, and Digital sectors from major European enterprises and a diverse range of technology solution providers, with a commercial mindset.

What you’ll do:

  1. Implement a research strategy aligned with Management Events' growth objectives, utilizing existing insights, taking ownership of execution, and collaborating with teams from customer, product development, and marketing to ensure insights are valuable and effectively leveraged.
  2. Identify emerging technology trends and topics for in-depth research, developing both quantitative and qualitative methods to conduct research among European tech executives, including market analysis, trend forecasting, customer behavior studies, and industry benchmarking.
  3. Translate research findings into commercially viable reports, whitepapers, presentations, and thought leadership content, applying diverse research methodologies and data analytics to generate actionable insights.
  4. Establish and monitor key performance indicators to track research success, focusing on operational execution and commercial impact. Regularly review and improve research processes and outputs for relevance and effectiveness.

You are successful when:

  1. Your research covers tech decision-makers from European enterprises with revenues over 1 billion euros, engaging the audience with methodologies and collaboration with customer teams.
  2. Your outputs (such as whitepapers and trend reports) demonstrate market traction via marketing and sales, with customer feedback confirming insights are actionable and valuable for decision-making.
  3. Projects are completed within set timelines through close collaboration with stakeholders, supporting customer work across markets and sectors.
  4. Your research methods and data utilization are continuously developed to stay effective and innovative, ensuring insights remain fresh.

What you’ll bring:

  • Proficiency in both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.
  • Strong commercial acumen and experience translating research into business insights.

  • Knowledge of advanced data analytics tools and techniques.
