Compliance and Risk Specialist, Transportation Risk & Compliance

Amazon Transportation Services has built a world-class Middle Mile operation, relying on an exceptional pool of carriers committed to meeting our customers’ expectations. TRC is seeking a Compliance and Risk Analyst to audit Amazon Middle-Mile carrier partners’ compliance with contractual and legal requirements and foster a compliance culture both internally and externally.
We seek an individual with strong audit experience, preferably in transport, capable of:
- Conducting thorough carrier audits across different business models.
- Identifying compliance, safety, regulatory, and reputational risks, and proposing risk-mitigation solutions.
- Delivering detailed audit findings reports for carriers and business teams.
The successful candidate will have exceptional attention to detail, a data-driven mindset, excellent soft skills for stakeholder management, and the ability to earn carriers’ trust. They should also demonstrate team spirit and autonomy.

Key job responsibilities
- Vet Middle-Mile carrier candidates against Amazon policies before onboarding.
- Audit carrier partners based on the TRC audit workbook, ensuring compliance with contractual, legal, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide comprehensive audit reports to senior management and business partners, including highlights, lowlights, and recommendations.
- Deliver precise audit reports to carrier partners with clear findings and actionable corrective actions.
- Conduct short-notice compliance audits as needed, maintaining high standards.
- Investigate suspicious carrier activities or behaviors that could pose risks.
- Meet individual and team goals with diligence and high standards.
- Achieve audit productivity and quality standards.
- Lead or participate in special projects or assignments as required.
A day in the life
No day is the same; you will work with many carriers across the network, assessing their compliance levels, and trending key issues to inform long-term solutions.
About the team
The team is distributed across Europe, working independently within countries but collaborating regularly on key topics and regional trends.
Minimum requirements
- Audit experience, preferably in transport.
- Fluency in Romanian and English.
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Project management and process improvement experience.
- Ability to work with international teams with integrity and team spirit.
- Strong analytical and interpretative skills.
- Proficiency in Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Research and investigation skills.
- Experience handling confidential data.
- Willingness to travel up to 10%.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in transportation (e.g., Transport Manager, Fleet Manager) and knowledge of local laws.
- Experience in compliance and risk management.
- Professional auditing qualification.
- Experience with data software (Tableau, QuickBase).
- Fluency in additional languages such as French, German, Italian, Lithuanian, or Spanish.
