Operational Safety Excellence Technician (m/f/d)

Job Purpose and Impact

As an Operational Safety Excellence Technician, you will perform routine activities to implement operational excellence procedures and management systems aimed at fostering a health and safety culture across the Cocoa & Chocolate manufacturing plant. You will ensure plant compliance with key operational safety standards, behaviors, and qualifications, working closely with the Environmental, Health, and Safety department.

This position is temporary for 1 year.

Key Accountabilities

  • Support operations by analyzing and recommending solutions for technical, process, and behavioral health and safety hazards.
  • Identify and implement sustainable improvements to system documentation (e.g., Enablon), standard work, and processes.
  • Execute safety improvement projects aligned with plant priorities, based on field checks, audits, or assessments, delivering timely results.
  • Leverage effective approaches to identify, monitor, and implement corrective and preventive actions, as well as safe practices initiatives.
  • Lead safety culture initiatives on the shopfloor by analyzing current practices and providing training and solutions.
  • Support the plant operations manager with data analysis on safety performance across departments (Production Cocoa, Production Chocolate, Maintenance, Reliability), including occasional presentations.
  • Ensure deployment of safety solutions considering impacts on food safety, quality, process safety, capacity, reliability, environmental, and cost constraints.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience (e.g., craftsman).
  • Knowledge of safety standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques.
  • Proficiency in German at a C level (according to European Reference GER).
