Company Overview

Munich Re Markets structures and administers bespoke reinsurance solutions for Munich Re’s life insurance clients, focusing on savings, retirement, and investment products. These transactions involve financial markets and insurance risks, impacting capital and risk management.

The division handles a variety of insurance contracts, mainly measured as financial instruments (IFRS 9) and some as insurance contracts (IFRS 17). Responsibilities include monitoring and reporting, with interfaces to risk management, reserving, controlling, and international risk carriers (e.g., Switzerland, Malta, China).

Reporting is recurring but varies due to different standards and effects. The division aims to automate processes to scale business and succeed in its goals.

Your Job

  • Reporting of life reinsurance business according to Solvency II and internal management.
  • Perform additional reporting tasks, including IFRS 17, non-hedged business, or internal primary insurance reporting.
  • Enhance automation through coding (primarily R & SQL).
  • Support quality assurance and audit processes.

Your Profile

  • Degree in (actuarial/finance) mathematics, physics, or informatics; actuarial fellowship training is a plus.
  • Advanced skills in R & SQL; Java is an advantage.
  • At least 2 years in (re-)insurance, investment banking, consultancy, or related fields; familiarity with valuation models, IFRS 9/17, Solvency II, C-ROSS.
  • Experience in project work and management.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills.
  • Fluent in business English; German is a plus.
