Job Description

The role

As part of our growth plans and reorganisation we are looking for an operations lead in our contract logistics to help develop and manage the operations across all of our warehousing locations. This role will be responsible for the planning, organising directing and controlling the initiatives of the Regional contract logistics operations. The role will also manage and drive the operational excellence making sure that all of the contract logistics operations are implementing key initiatives.

The job holder will also play a significant role within the P&L elements through the controlling of costs, driving efficiencies and improving service levels. This role is part of the contract logistics leadership team and as such will contribute to the future success of the division. We have ambitious plans for the future and looking to acquire new businesses and part of this role will be to support those activities.

You will also develop and maintain best practices and manage a large team that will include engineering, solutions, innovation, launch and BI teams. You will work with other divisions to help foster collaboration to drive cross- selling opportunities and end to end value propositions.

The person

So, who are we looking for?

• Extensive experience of working in contract logistics with a strong focus on general management, operations management and supply chain solutions.
• Strong commercial experience and a good understanding of P&L success.
• Excellent stakeholder experience including shareholders and external government agencies.
• Strong negotiator with the ability to adapt to high pressure environments by using a solid approach alongside a focused leadership style.
• High level analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills.
• An ability to develop and maintain excellent client relationships.
