Product Development Engineer

AIRTECH Europe, a company of the IDEX Group based in Schweinfurt, specializes in distributing customized products and systems for gas extraction and vacuum generation. We collaborate with leading European companies to develop solutions in environmental, medical, railway, and plastics engineering.

We are seeking a Development Engineer (m/f/d) in Schweinfurt.

Your responsibilities include:

• Developing feasible and production-ready design concepts based on functional specifications for the economical manufacturing of new products, considering customer wishes, technical insights, economic, and environmental requirements.
• Managing new product development projects (NPD) and processes.
• Designing and mechanically sizing (tolerance, vibration, and strength considerations).
• Designing complex machines, machine parts, and systems.
• Developing prototypes.
• Collaborating with manufacturing during the conception of series production.
• Planning and conducting technical-scientific experiments (e.g., to optimize product reliability or improve manufacturing processes).
• Gathering customer feedback to understand product applications and requirements, providing recommendations, and integrating feedback into new or existing designs.
• Performing technical supplier pre-selection and supporting the purchasing team in procurement, qualification, and management of existing and new suppliers.
• Creating documentation such as manufacturing instructions, work instructions, and inspection guidelines.

Qualifications include:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a comparable field.
• Minimum of 5–10 years of professional experience, preferably in pneumatic technologies.
• Knowledge of CAD software, preferably Creo and Windchill.
• Good communication skills in German and English (spoken and written).
• Experience in international collaboration is desirable.
• Knowledge of strength and vibration analysis.
• Analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
• Flexibility and willingness to adapt.
