Senior Accountant

Location: Leipzig, Saxony, Germany

Full-time, Permanent Position

A Senior Accountant is required for a global company in the life sciences sector, committed to revolutionizing scientific discovery and advancing breakthroughs that have a significant impact on healthcare. With a strong global presence, the company empowers researchers and organizations around the world through innovative solutions and cutting-edge technologies.

As they continue to grow, they are looking for a Senior Accountant to join their finance team based in Leipzig, Germany. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, collaborate with international teams, and contribute to the efficient financial operations of a fast-growing organization.

What the Senior Accountant will do:

  • Prepare and deliver accurate financial results, including monthly reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, and journal entries.
  • Ensure compliance with local (HGB) and international accounting standards (US GAAP), and maintain strong internal controls, including SOX compliance.
  • Collaborate with global teams to support audits, tax returns, and statutory accounts.
  • Contribute to process improvements and drive efficiencies within the finance team.
  • Support cross-functional projects and new initiatives, developing strong relationships with senior management.

Required experience:

  • A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification is a plus).
  • Several years of experience in a similar accounting role, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
  • US GAAP, German GAAP and SOX experience.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Fluent in both English and German, with excellent communication skills.
