The Global Credit Solutions (GCS) team is primarily engaged with global banks, insuring credit risks they originate, where GCS acts as a primary insurer. Your role as Risk Underwriter (RUW) involves supporting the GCS team through risk analysis of corporate obligors and evaluation of complex transaction structures, including corporate trade finance and non-trade finance, and making or preparing independent credit decisions alongside the Client Relationship & Risk Manager (CRRM).

  • Analyze the creditworthiness of corporate obligors and evaluate complex financing structures in corporate trade finance and non-trade (un)secured lending, focusing on single risks and portfolio transactions, emphasizing underwriting quality.
  • Prepare internal credit applications, provide recommendations, and explain decisions to internal stakeholders.
  • Determine risk appetite for significant individual risks and large transactions involving multiple cedents.
  • Monitor existing portfolios to identify risks early and initiate risk mitigation measures.
  • Collaborate with CRRM and participate in client meetings for deals or due diligence.
  • Assist in developing growth initiatives and new business opportunities.
  • Support enhancements of tools, risk management systems, and processes.

Your profile

  • University degree in business, economics, or related fields, or equivalent training (e.g., banking traineeship with further education).
  • Several years of experience in corporate risk analysis and finance; experience in emerging markets, especially Asia, is advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate trade finance products, such as receivables and payables finance.
  • Deep understanding of credit risk management in banking, including rating methodologies, and interest in ESG topics.
  • Excellent analytical skills, risk awareness, independent work style, and decision justification ability.
  • Team player with confidence and adaptability in dynamic environments.
  • Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel and Power BI.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
