Welcome to the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS, headquartered in Erlangen! As the largest institute within the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, we have been conducting research for over 30 years in diverse fields such as artificial intelligence, microelectronics, sensor systems, data acquisition, signal processing, and signal transmission. Talented individuals from various engineering and natural science disciplines will find a wide range of exciting research topics under one roof. In the Audio and Media Technologies division, we've been shaping global standards and technologies in the audio and film industry for over 30 years. Our developments, from the invention of MP3 to AAC and the Digital Cinema Initiative test plan, are integrated into nearly all modern entertainment electronics.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with audio and multimedia experts to develop web-accessible CODECs and standardize new interfaces.
  2. Set up and maintain internal cloud-based solutions.
  3. Contribute ideas to standardization efforts to improve end-user experiences.

Qualifications:

  1. Completed degree or doctorate in computer science, electrical engineering, or a comparable field.
  2. Ideally, initial experience with CODECs.
  3. Interest in audio technologies and willingness to learn new topics.
  4. Excellent communication skills in German and English, both spoken and written.

This position is suitable for motivated early-career professionals with relevant experience from internships, academic projects, or theses.
