Position: Development Engineer for Optical Metrology (f/m/d)

Location: Oberkochen

Full-time / Part-time: The position can be filled in full or part time.

Summary: We are seeking a Development Engineer for Optical Metrology in the Structural Mechanics & AIV department at Oberkochen. This department develops complex measurement systems for EUV lithography and space applications, working closely with customers to define requirements, develop measurement concepts, and support implementation and transfer to production.

Your Tasks:

  1. Develop optical measurement systems for product qualification.
  2. Design optical components in the visual, near, and far infrared ranges.
  3. Program system components for automation and data evaluation routines.
  4. Calculate and simulate electro-optical performance parameters and systems.
  5. Evaluate and select measurement principles and methods.
  6. Commission and optimize measurement systems and components.
  7. Accept optical and opto-electronic systems.
  8. Analyze and optimize process sequences.
  9. Assist in creating system specifications and acceptance documents.
  10. Collaborate with departments and suppliers throughout the product lifecycle.

Your Profile:

  1. Degree in physics, engineering, optics, optoelectronics, or mechatronics, with a focus on optical measurement technology or similar.
  2. Several years of experience in optical or measurement system development in the VIS, SWIR, and IR ranges.
  3. Experience with optical metrology methods such as interferometry, spectrometry, infrared metrology, and photo-radiometry.
  4. Proficiency in MatLab and/or Python for automation.
  5. High commitment and assertiveness.
  6. Good communication skills and responsible work ethic.
  7. Fluent in German and English.
