SQL DBA SME Architect

RED has a new opportunity for a client urgently seeking a SQL DBA SME Architect for a new project. The contract is hybrid, initially for 6 months with potential extension.

This position requires fluency in English and German (B2 level).

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Microsoft Azure, Data Studio, and SQL DBA responsibilities.

Job Details:

• Title: SQL DBA SME Architect
• Duration: 6 months + extension
• Work Arrangement: Remote, Full-time (5 days/week)
• Languages: Fluent in German and English

Primary Skills:

• Configuring SQL Server HA / DR (FCI, AG) in Azure across multiple subnets and regions, using Availability Sets
• Managing Security, Policies, Resource Governance, and Azure Key Vault
• Migrating SQL Server from On-Premises to Azure using DMA, DMS, Azure Data Studio, Log Shipping, Backup & Restore, and other methods
• Collaborating with internal and customer stakeholders and project managers to understand migration requirements and provide solutions
• Leading Azure cloud solutions for complex migrations
• Planning storage and capacity, creating logical and physical data models
• Installing and configuring SQL Server versions from 200x to 2022
• Troubleshooting Windows and SQL Server issues

Secondary Skills:

• Designing, implementing, and maintaining high-performance, reliable database systems in Azure
• Upgrading SQL Server from legacy versions to the latest in Azure
• Proficient in T-SQL scripting and PowerShell
• Understanding database performance optimization using various tools
• Ensuring compliance with client standards and expectations
