ABOUT THE TEAM

You will be joining a dedicated and dynamic team focused on driving Tide’s market success in Germany. The Tide Germany team is in an exciting growth phase, bringing together professionals with deep expertise in financial services, technology, and local market dynamics. As part of this expanding team, you’ll have the unique opportunity to shape Tide’s presence in Germany, working collaboratively to deliver innovative solutions for small business owners. Partner Credit Services is Tide’s SME lending marketplace product vertical. Working with lending partners, Partner Credit Services connects business owners to the right funding. For founders moving their business to the next level. For entrepreneurs negotiating a tough market. For leaders looking to adapt their strategy.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a highly motivated Sales Team Lead Business Finance you will manage and develop a team of Business Finance Experts (Finanzierungsberater) who support German SMEs with their lending needs. This role is crucial in driving team performance, achieving revenue targets, and fostering a high-performance sales culture.

As a Team Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring you and your team deliver against budget, receive ongoing training and development, and consistently maintain the highest standards of customer service. Once your team is in place, your primary focus will be leadership and coaching. Until then you will be required to contribute individual revenue and hire & develop a team of Business Finance Specialists.

Some of the things you’ll be doing:

  • Direct KMU engagement: Contact, engage and manage our Small Business customers through their application process.
  • Hand in Hand: Build and nurture working operational relationships with key counterparts at our commercial lending partners.
  • Confidence: Become confident in articulating the Tide Partner Credit proposition and service.
  • Team development: Build, lead, mentor, and develop a team of SME lending brokers to achieve and exceed performance targets.
  • Sales team culture development: Drive a high-performance sales culture, show resilience even in times of ambiguity and uncertainty ensuring brokers are motivated, accountable, and consistently improving.
  • KPI ownership: Own, monitor and manage your own and team KPIs, pipeline activity, and deal progression to ensure revenue targets are met.
  • Coaching development: Deliver coaching, feedback, and training to enhance the team’s sales effectiveness and product knowledge. Support brokers in structuring deals, overcoming objections, and closing sales when required.
  • Influence senior leadership: Work closely with the head of commercials and senior leadership to align team goals with business objectives.
  • Process optimisation: Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and conversion rates.
  • Partner Support: Maintain strong relationships with lenders and internal teams such as the partner management to streamline operations and deal flow.
  • Roll up sleeves: Contribute individual revenue where necessary, ensuring a hands-on approach to commercial finance sales.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience directly leading a team, preferably covering the German or another German speaking market.
  • Experience of minimum 5 years in a customer-facing sales role within financial services, ideally financing, lending or credit brokerage (Kreditvermittlung).
  • Proven track record of consistently meeting and exceeding revenue-based targets.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to coach, motivate, set clear expectations, goals and develop a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing and building strong relationships.
  • A results-driven mindset with impeccable attention to detail, determination, and drive.
  • Passion for delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring clients receive the best possible outcome.
  • Highly organised and analytical, able to manage multiple priorities and work well under pressure.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot issues quickly and effectively.
  • A proactive, self-starting approach, always working backwards from targets to ensure effective execution.
  • Proficiency in using CRM systems and analysing sales data to identify trends, opportunities and areas of improvement.
  • Native in German and fluent in English.
