AWS Cloud Architect (German Speaking)

We are seeking a skilled and strategic AWS Data Platform Architect to design and implement robust, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure for our Customer Data Platform (CDP). The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of AWS services, data engineering principles, and infrastructure as code (IaC) practices to deliver a high-performing, cost-effective, and secure cloud solution.

Key Responsibilities :

• Design and architect end-to-end AWS infrastructure solutions supporting the CDP, ensuring alignment with scalability, security, and cost-efficiency goals.
• High-Level System Design :
• Define comprehensive architecture blueprints including network topology (VPC), compute resources (EC2), storage (S3, EBS), and identity & access controls (IAM, Security Groups).
• Data Engineering Collaboration :
• Work closely with data engineers and analysts to incorporate data warehousing and data processing requirements into the infrastructure design.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) :
• Partner with DevOps engineers to create and manage reusable IaC templates using Terraform , CloudFormation , or similar tools.
• AWS Services Implementation :
• Oversee deployment and integration of key AWS services such as EC2 , S3 , RDS , EMR , Redshift , Glue , and Lambda to support data ingestion, transformation, and storage.
• Documentation & Standards :
• Maintain detailed documentation including architecture diagrams, deployment guides, and best practices to ensure consistent implementation and knowledge sharing.
• Security & Compliance :
• Ensure all infrastructure adheres to AWS security best practices and relevant industry standards for data privacy, protection, and compliance.
• Performance Optimization :
• Continuously monitor and optimize infrastructure for performance, availability, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

• Proven expertise with AWS services relevant to data platforms : EC2, S3, RDS, EMR, Redshift, Glue, and Lambda.
• Strong background in data engineering and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience designing scalable , fault-tolerant , and highly available cloud solutions.
• Solid understanding of networking , security , and storage in AWS environments.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform , AWS CloudFormation , or similar IaC tools.
• Familiarity with AWS monitoring tools such as CloudWatch , CloudTrail , and cost management dashboards.
• Excellent documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

• AWS Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty .
• Knowledge of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
• Experience with DevOps practices and CI / CD pipelines in cloud environments.
