The SVP of Strategic Planning will be the point person for “Corpsumer” work within TWSC Central market. COrpsumer reflects the need to lead client and team partnership on relationships that require both corporate and consumer best-in-class work, aligned with a connected strategic vision and plan. This person will architect powerful business-driving communications strategies in partnership with regional and NA leadership. The ideal candidate is an experienced, insightful thinker who immerses themselves in a category, understands what drives consumer action, and relentlessly seeks unexpected insights to advance communications. This role involves all elements of brand strategy, including data analysis, market trend assessment, market research shaping, and developing impactful insights and strategies to solve brand challenges.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead businesses with strategic positioning that appeals to both consumer and corporate stakeholders.
  • Guide client and internal teams to solve problems efficiently and collaborate effectively.
  • Develop earned strategies with internal and client stakeholders that are core to brand improvement.
  • Maintain a professional, mature presence and demonstrate strong presentation skills.
  • Proactively identify potential challenges in research plans and creative briefs, recommending improvements.
  • Initiate and execute strategic processes from research to creative brief, co-leading client projects.
  • Mine data, research, and intelligence reports for insights.
  • Develop a deep understanding of market dynamics, customer mindset, competitive actions, and industry trends.
  • Derive and communicate insights that drive behavior change.
  • Build strong relationships with staff, partners, and clients, including mentoring junior staff.

Experience Requirements:

  • 10-15 years in corporate and consumer strategies with integrated ideas.
  • Knowledge of cultural brand strategy and familiarity with PR, digital, and social media work.
  • Expertise in marketing and communications industries.
  • Comfort with research techniques, insight generation, and data analysis (including manipulation).
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to work under tight timelines and collaboratively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills supporting argument construction.

Chicago Salary Range: $162,000 – $200,000

Compensation will depend on various factors including experience, market considerations, and internal salary structures.
