Site Reliability Engineer

Overview

Our client who provide secure communications to Enterprise & Government, are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to join their Solutions Engineering team. The team are remote-first but the successful candidate will be based in Germany with no requirement to work on call.

The person will be confident deploying in Kubernetes, maintaining and managing the necessary infrastructure. You will also be experienced in a functional programming language and able to troubleshoot customer problems.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain Kubernetes clusters in on-prem and hybrid cloud environments.
• Ensure reliability, security, and scalability of self-managed Kubernetes infrastructure.
• Implement and optimize KubeSpray-based Kubernetes deployments.
• Support customer teams in deploying Server applications in their unique infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot Kubernetes and programming-related issues across various customer environments.
• Document best practices, configurations, and troubleshooting steps for customers.

Required Qualifications

• Strong troubleshooting skills in distributed systems and cloud-native applications.
• Proven experience in setting up and managing Kubernetes environments from scratch (not just using managed services like AWS EKS or Azure AKS).
• Experience and confidence in a functional programming language
• Strong understanding of Kubernetes core components, networking, and security best practices.
• Expertise in Linux system administration and container orchestration.
• Hands-on experience managing bare metal Kubernetes deployments.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible, Helm), and automation scripting.
