The company owns a relevant infrastructure with a reference disk storage capacity of 70 PB and a computing cluster with almost 1 Petaflops capacity. To meet the needs of its clients, the infrastructure hosts multiple kinds of environments ranging from dedicated HPC solutions to multi-hybrid cloud solutions.

The position

To strengthen its DevOps department, adwäisEO SA is looking for a talented Senior Kubernetes Engineer for activities related to the production, archiving, and dissemination of Earth Observation Data.

As Senior Kubernetes Engineer, you will be part of the DevOps team and work closely with the development team. You will be in charge of the cloud environment, participating in projects for the development of IT systems for the management, archiving, distribution, and processing of space data.

The tasks

• Develop and design Cloud-based infrastructures;
• Use infrastructure tools (GIT, pipelines, Ansible, etc.);
• Understand the issues of high availability and distributed architectures;
• Configure web services (Web Servers, Load Balancers, Proxy);
• Configure system microservices (Rancher, Kubernetes);
• Develop scripts and service programs related to the computing system (bash/Python, Linux);
• Improve the functioning of the system (performance, robustness, monitoring, log management).

Must Have Requirements

• IT degree;
• 5+ years of proven experience in a similar position;
• Strong proficiency in on-premises Kubernetes (K8s) clusters;
• Management and optimization of Kubernetes clusters in both production and testing environments;
• Good command of cloud-based technologies and Docker;
• Good command of DevOps technologies (Kubernetes, Ansible, ELK, GIT, Rancher, etc.);
• Good knowledge of the Linux environment and shell;
• Good knowledge of bash and Python;
• Valid work permit for the EU;
• Good English skills both spoken and written;
• Team spirit, analytical mind, critical sense, versatility, autonomy, and organization.
