Legal Counsel

Overview

Legal Counsel - Our client is a fast-growing player in the renewable energy sector, seeking a Legal Counsel to take on a key role in high-profile M&A transactions across Europe. In this role, you will be at the forefront of acquisitions and development of solar, wind, and storage projects. You’ll partner closely with investment professionals and external advisors, guiding legal strategy, managing due diligence, and leading negotiations on complex cross-border deals.

Location: Hamburg, Germany

Responsibilities

• Provide clear, solution-focused guidance to stakeholders on legal and commercial risks
• Lead negotiations on transaction documents and oversee the full execution process
• Manage and coordinate external counsel, ensuring pragmatic and actionable advice
• Guide legal workstreams for M&A deals, including due diligence and contract review
• Advise on regulatory, permitting, and compliance issues across multiple jurisdictions
• Share knowledge internally, including legal training and support on strategic initiatives

Qualifications

• Fully qualified lawyer (both Staatsexamen with strong results)
• 2+ years’ experience in M&A and/or renewable energy, ideally at a leading law firm or in-house
• Strong foundation in corporate and contract law; familiarity with energy regulation a plus
• Commercially minded communicator with a pragmatic, proactive approach
• Fluent in English and German
• Reliable team player with integrity and a solutions-oriented mindset
