Position Overview

Tools for Humanity is seeking an experienced Product Counsel to join our dynamic legal team. In this pivotal role, you will provide legal advice on a wide range of issues relating to consumer protection, artificial intelligence, biometrics, privacy, financial regulations, marketing, IP, and digital currencies. This position requires a proactive individual with exceptional organizational skills, capable of managing complex matters and projects across multiple jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as key legal partner for product and engineering teams, advising throughout the full product lifecycle.
• Identify, analyze, and mitigate product, regulatory, privacy, and online safety risks across jurisdictions.
• Implement creative legal strategies and scalable processes for risk management and help advance AI and cryptocurrency policy positions.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and advisors on US and international laws; draft terms of use and product policies; support go‑to‑market strategies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in product counsel roles within the financial services or technology sectors.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the law relating to financial services, blockchain technology, artificial intelligence, intellectual property, privacy, biometrics, online safety, marketing, and/or consumer protection.
• Exceptional analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
• Proven project management skills with experience leading cross‑functional initiatives.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
• Proactive, collaborative team player with a positive attitude and sense of humor.
• US candidates: Juris Doctor from a top‑tier law school. Membership in at least one U.S. state bar.

Pay transparency statement (for CA and NY based roles)

The reasonably estimated salary for this role at TFH ranges from $235,000 – $300,000, plus a competitive long‑term incentive package. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
