Join our System Technology Team as a Senior Product Manager Grid Technology (f/m/d) at E.ON SE and help us in creating the technical foundation that enables efficiency, resilience, and sustainability across our distribution system operator (DSO).

What you will do
- Set the strategic direction for key grid components – from cables and transformers to smart metering, substations, lighting, FTTx, overhead lines, and pipes. Develop forward-looking roadmaps that enable a flexible, resilient, and climate-neutral energy system
- Bridge engineering and procurement by aligning technical decisions with regulatory frameworks, corporate strategy, and climate goals – ensuring every step supports our vision for a sustainable future
- Lead with vision: Analyze emerging technologies, market trends, and regulatory developments to future-proof our infrastructure and guide strategic decisions across the asset lifecycle
- Establish group-wide standards and governance structures that combine efficiency, scalability, and sustainability – laying the foundation for intelligent and resilient grids
Leadership
- Take the lead in a virtual expert team: While not disciplinary, your role involves strong functional leadership – guiding cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration, and driving alignment across technical, commercial, and operational units
- Champion inclusive leadership: Promote a culture of shared responsibility and innovation, connecting diverse perspectives to accelerate the transformation of our distribution networks
- Be a catalyst for change: Inspire others by translating complex technical challenges into strategic opportunities for a green energy future
Qualifications
- Academic Background: A university degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Technology Management, or a related field – ideally with a focus on energy infrastructure, grid operations, or the digitalization of technical systems
- Professional Experience: Several years of experience in the energy industry, preferably with a distribution system operator (DSO). Experience in technical asset management, grid planning, strategic procurement, or product/portfolio management is a plus
- Strategic Thinking & Systems Understanding: Strong ability to analyze technical, economic, and regulatory interdependencies and translate them into strategic concepts
- Communication & Leadership Skills: Ability to moderate across organizational units, align diverse perspectives, and embody an inclusive leadership model. Proven experience in leading and managing interdisciplinary projects and in stakeholder management
- Languages: Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken
