The Communication, Information and Media Center (KIM) is the University of Konstanz's central service provider for IT and library services. It offers services for research, teaching and studies from a single source and operates the administrative IT. The office reports directly to the Rectorate.
The KIM is one of the most innovative, award-winning institutions in the field of literature and information provision in the German university landscape. With around 200 employees including around 30 project staff and a budget of around 8 million euros plus project funds, KIM is a high-performance service center that is constantly expanding its services and adapting them to current requirements.
Your tasks
- Strategic and organizational management incl. personnel and budget responsibility
- Active role in the further development of KIM into an integrated information and IT service provider for the university
- Active personnel and organizational development
- Supporting the Rectorate, science and university administration in all relevant matters, particularly in the areas of science support, research data management, open science, digital forms of teaching and learning and the digitalization of university administrative processes
- Acquisition of projects, second and third-party funding
- Representation of the KIM as an institution of the University of Konstanz in committees (regional, national and international) and in public
Your profile
- Completed scientific university degree
- Management and leadership experience in an integrated information center or a comparable institution of the science-supporting information infrastructure (e.g. library or computer center)
- Proven management qualification or additional qualification for the higher civil service
- Very good knowledge of national and international developments in the field of IT and/or library services at universities
- High level of leadership and interpersonal skills, cooperation and communication skills, negotiation skills and strategic thinking
- Working language is German, very good knowledge of English is required
