I'm partnered with a 30,000+ employee manufacturing company based in Düsseldorf that is actively searching for an IT Application Specialist to join their function.
The IT Application Specialist will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimising software applications within the business by ensuring applications function smoothly, support business operations, and align with company goals. This role will typically involve troubleshooting issues, implementing updates, integrating new technologies, and providing user support and training. Collaborating with Management and end-users to enhance system efficiency and functionality will be a must. Strong problem-solving skills, technical expertise, and knowledge of relevant software and databases are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities
- Provide help and guidance for users about the business processes mapped in the IT systems.
- Keep track of what needs to be recorded and contribute ideas for ongoing IT systems improvements.
- Plan, organise and carry out IT projects.
- Coordinate with specialists from the company’s IT service providers.
- Provide help and support for users facing problems and IT issues.
- Analyse and resolve errors.
- Carry out small improvements to the system, including assessments and reports.
- Support and take responsibility for IT projects.
- Implement training programs.
- Set up, adjust, and support hardware and software components.
- Oversee system monitoring and create system documentation.
Experience and Qualifications
- Completed training as an IT specialist, complemented by relevant further education or studies in IT/business informatics
- Minimum of three years of professional experience, ideally within the business processes of a production company
- Ability to work independently and reliably; knowledge of ERP systems, with familiarity in INFOR LN considered a plus
- Proficient in the MS Office suite, particularly Excel
- Fluent English & German
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline; advanced degrees (MS Engineering, MBA) or equivalent preferred
- Familiarity with Flow, Standard Work, Visual Management, Kanban/Replenishment systems, FMEA, and A3 methodologies
- Solid business acumen across various functions; strong critical thinking and analytical skills
