As our new Principal Fullstack Engineer (m/f/d), you’ll combine hands-on coding with architectural leadership to help design and deliver innovative services built on top of Shopware 6.

You’ll work at the intersection of backend, frontend, and cloud technologies, building impactful features like our Shopware Analytics service and collaborating closely with the Data & AI team on cutting-edge ecommerce solutions. In this senior individual contributor role, you’ll be the go-to technical expert in your domain — driving architectural decisions, solving complex challenges, and mentoring fellow engineers to raise the technical bar across the team. These are your tasks:

  • Shopware Services Development: Implement and maintain innovative services built on top of Shopware 6, with a focus on JavaScript/TypeScript (Vue.js) for the frontend and PHP (Symfony) or Go for the backend.
  • Ownership & Impact: Take full ownership of your code and domain, ensuring high-quality and scalable solutions. Our teams in the Shopware Services unit live by the motto “you build it, you run it”. Your contributions will drive the evolution of Shopware’s Services Ecosystem and shape the future of ecommerce.
  • Diverse Development Areas: Focus on key areas, including the newly launched Shopware Analytics service and other innovative services developed with the Data & AI team.
  • Agile Work: Use agile development methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and tools like GitHub and Confluence to ensure efficient and transparent collaboration.

Qualifications

  • At least 7 years of professional experience, with at least 3 years in a senior role and ideally in an open source environment.
  • Willingness to work as a Full Stack Engineer, with a main focus on backend development.
  • Tech Stack: PHP (Symfony), Go (Gin, fx), and JavaScript/TypeScript (Vue.js).
  • Ideally experience with real-time data analytics tools (e.g., ClickHouse) or willingness to learn.
  • Experience with cloud-based solutions using AWS (ECS, ECR, DynamoDB, Kinesis Firehose, SQS), GitHub, Docker, Datadog, and Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform.
  • Solid understanding of quality assurance and code reviews.
  • Strong reliability, proactivity, and sense of responsibility for tasks and projects to achieve the best outcomes with the team.
  • Comfort communicating in English in daily work in an international environment.
