About our technology

The semiconductor industry’s growing demand for more powerful chips with higher bandwidth and lower power finds its solution in our technology. We connect chips to high-throughput, low-delay computing networks. The key lies in harnessing the physical properties of graphene to combine electronic computing with photonic communication, allowing countless chips to interact almost as if they were one. Our graphene photonic innovation increases computing power and efficiency to a new order of magnitude
In short,we connect chips to create powerful and energy-efficient networks, overcoming connectivity limitations in the semiconductor industry. We deliver the graphene solution

The Role

Black Semiconductor GmbH is looking for a skilled and experienced MCS and Simulation Engineer (f/m/d) to spearhead the integration and simulation of Material Control Systems (MCS) within a fully automated 300mm Wafer Fabrication environment. This role is central to the deployment and optimization of the AMHS-MCS-MES ecosystem, requiring strong cross-functional collaboration, advanced simulation capabilities, and deep understanding of semiconductor material flow
The ideal candidate will also be responsible for end-to-end project execution, real-time troubleshooting, predictive analytics, and supporting the performance health of the fab through simulation-driven design validation and MCS refinement

To join our team, you should be excited to

  • Integrate, test, install, configure, and support all new Material Control System (MCS) of the Automated Material Handling System (AMHS) for our 300mm Wafer Fabrication plant in Aachen, Germany
  • Drive the integration of the MCS with the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and the Scheduling system into the overall system landscape in a timely manner
  • Act as the key expert to partner with the AMHS, MES, and Scheduling teams on continuous optimization of the MCS to meet AMHS system health/performance goals and emerging needs
  • Define key requirements for MCS and design test cases/scenarios to perform analytics for MCS capabilities
  • Responsible for Fab material delivery simulation and analytics to ensure performance metrics of the AMHS are met
  • Manage and administer Fab material flow simulation—interpret, analyze, emulate, and provide recommendations to cross-functional teams/management on design validation and issue prediction
  • Improve simulation output/quality by identifying new applicable processes, design changes, or system behaviors that can enhance simulation performance
  • Develop/incorporate simulation models for new areas/buildings/sites into the master simulation, and revalidate full or partial system design, software, and performance against aligned metrics
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including equipment vendors, to troubleshoot, analyze, and develop solutions for issues arising during or after system implementation
  • Perform good project management to ensure both schedule and performance goals are achieved
  • Lead, train, and guide Factory Automation shift technicians on best practices and optimize support structures
  • Provide second-level support and resolution for MCS-related issues
  • Schedule and conduct periodic user training sessions for engineering and production personnel as needed
