Job Title: Director Operations (M/F/D)

Location: Eberbach, Germany (Onsite)

Position Summary

Director Operations will be responsible for development of strategies and goals for the area of operations as well as ensuring the realization of the goals, high product quality with optimal production costs in a safe environment for employees, further development of the organization, further technical development with general consideration of the legal requirements.

The Role

  • Overall responsibility for achieving the production goals, with high product quality, on-time execution of the production plan and optimal production costs within the framework of the pharmaceutical law.

  • Development and implementation of production concepts and programs.

  • Provide leadership to the Pre-Encapsulation, Encapsulation, Finishing and Production support managers.

  • Responsibility for the production budget and budget adherence & ensuring optimal production and maintenance costs.

  • Modernize the factory and drive implementation of investment projects and maintenance programs.

  • Ensuring of the further development of machine and process technology.

  • Continuous development of the organization and employees implementation of employee development programs in cooperation with the Human Resources department.

  • Implementation of continuous improvement and Operational Excellence projects.

  • Support in product & process developments.

  • Development and implementation of programs for occupational safety and environmental protection in cooperation with the head of Environmental, Health & Safety Management.

  • Taking on special tasks as directed by the supervisor.

The Candidate

  • University Degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Business, Logistics or equivalent experience.

  • 7+ years of progressively increasing managerial experience in pharmaceutical environment (It is essential that the position holder have experience of the pharmaceutical sector, ideally with knowledge in manufacturing and packaging).

  • A demonstrable track record of success delivering continuous improvement practices whilst adhering to strong management and leadership principles.

  • A commercially orientated individual, with excellent interpersonal skills and experience of successfully delivering change management programs to improve efficiencies are essential.

  • Strong experience with Operational Excellence, Lean Manufacturing, Lean and Six Sigma or similar efficiency improvement programs is preferred.
