The Company

One of the world’s leading energy companies and a cutting-edge leader in renewables, with an installed capacity of 115.3 GW on the global market. Of this, 34.4 GW is attributable to its renewable energy portfolio, which is to be expanded to 80 GW by 2030. As their asset portfolio expands in Germany, so does their ambition to achieve significant year-on-year growth. As part of ongoing investment into focus markets and the need to drive development & construction of existing secured pipeline, whilst originating fresh multi-gigawatt opportunities, they are looking to secure a Managing Director to join their high-performing management team.

The Role:

As Managing Director - Onshore renewables , you will be responsible for leading the group’s greenfield project development, M&A, PPA & construction activities of utility-scale onshore Wind and Solar PV projects. Some duties will include:

• Be the driving force behind Origination, Development and acquisition & construction of a significant pipeline of Onshore wind and Solar PV projects
• Develop & execute 3-to-5 year strategy of the onshore business in Germany
• Recruit, lead & manage the team for future success
• Manage the cross-functional team (due diligence, finance, H&S, legal), plus external financial advisors
• Lead the team responsible for establishing relationships with landowners, municipals, project developers & financial institutions across the region
• Solve problems and find inventive ways to ensure the success of projects
• Full P&L responsibility

The Person:

The successful candidate will likely have:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Economics, Finance, or Law
• 8+ years’ experience in Project Development, Acquisition, of Utility Scale Onshore Solar/Wind projects.
• Proven abilities to lead a team to develop and acquire a ready-to-build and operational asset pipeline in Germany
• The ability to recruit, lead, and drive results from a high-performing team
• A strong ability to operate at all levels, reporting directly into the CEO
• A strong network of Developers, EPCs, OEMs, and Financial Institutions
• Speak English and German
