Communications Business Partner Innovation Unit

Join Boehringer Ingelheim as a Communications Business Partner for the Innovation Unit.

Are you passionate about driving impactful communication strategies on a global scale? In this role, you will lead complex strategic communication initiatives to support the Innovation Unit (IU) Communications Strategy, Corporate Affairs, and the Global Thought Leadership Agenda. By designing and implementing innovative internal and external communication programs, you will help position the IU, Corporate Affairs, and Boehringer Ingelheim as a first‑patient and first‑in‑class center of excellence.

This position offers flexibility and can also be filled on a part‑time basis at 80%, allowing you to balance your professional and personal priorities. It has a hybrid setup with approximately 2‑3 days per week on site.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Craft communication materials to showcase the impact and importance of our research and development efforts.
  • Monitor and analyze R&D trends, providing strategic guidance to senior leadership on industry developments.
  • Develop and implement internal and external strategic initiatives to achieve key objectives for the Innovation Unit.
  • Act as a trusted communication partner, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to drive impactful outcomes.
  • Leverage your deep understanding of global market dynamics and emerging trends to anticipate and address factors shaping the R&D environment and the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships across global teams and role model the One Human Pharma (One HP) mindset.

Requirements

  • Long‑term experience in PR/communications, including specific experience in R&D communications, pipeline/product communications in the pharmaceutical industry, paired with completed studies in communications or a related field.
  • Proven ability to successfully develop, implement and lead a global communication strategy, and excellence in building relationships and influencing outcomes.
  • Sound crisis and issues management experience.
  • Excellent editorial and writing skills, paired with natural curiosity, sound judgment, and the ability to keep structure in busy times.
  • High level of adaptability and flexibility to respond effectively to changing priorities.
  • Exceptional verbal and written English communication and presentation skills; German would be a plus.
