Your Role
We are seeking a visionary and experienced Chief Editor to lead our editorial strategy and drive the continued growth and relevance of our business media and information service in the active lifestyle industry. In this key leadership position, you will:
- Oversee all editorial content across SGI Europe and lead a team of experienced journalists and analysts
- Develop and execute a forward-looking and data-driven agenda and editorial calendar ensuring topicality, quality, and industry relevance for top industry decision makers
- Cultivate relationships with and interview industry leaders from the top sports brands, retailers, investors as well as athletes, innovators and industry experts
- Research and write B2B news, features, interviews and analyses
- Create daily newsletter and weekly and bi-monthly Email-briefings
- Collaborate with data and research teams to produce insight-rich, data-driven content
- Represent the business media at conferences, roundtables, and media events across Europe
- Work closely with commercial, product, and design teams to ensure editorial excellence and growth
- Shape the content strategy across platforms – digital, email briefings, special reports, and events
Your Profile
- Proven experience in a senior editorial or journalistic role in a leading data-driven business media or business information provider
- Analytical mindset, strong track-record with financial analysis, macro-ecomomic data, market & trend analysis, research
- Strong understanding of the fashion, retail, sporting goods, outdoor sectors (B2B perspective)
- Excellent editorial judgment, writing, and editing skills in English
- Strategic mindset with experience in digital publishing, audience engagement, and content innovation
- Leadership skills, a collaborative spirit, and the ability to manage cross-functional teams
- Confident communicator with a deep interest in business trends and market intelligence
