Overview

The WA Industry BDM/segment leader translates the strategic imperatives and segment bookings goals to a regional value creation action plan via sales campaigns for the assigned segment. The role assesses the sales channel coverage for the segment required to carry out the sales actions to meet the booking goals, trains and mentors selling personas and proposes Go To Market (GTM) strategies and investments as required for differential growth.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the subject matter expert for the assigned industry/segment in the world area (WA). Develop a deep understanding of the industry trends, needs and language to promote products and solutions to address associated needs and to generate profitable growth.
  • Continuously monitor market trends, drivers and competitive dynamics. Identify gaps or opportunities in the market.
  • Be accountable and track segment bookings towards goal, if not tracking work with sales management to define additional sales actions as required.
  • Act as leader of the segment sales community ensuring communication of success and best practices across regions. Drive close communication with country field sales & leadership as well as with global and Europan strategic account teams.
  • Proactively sharing insights with country and regional teams to shape strategic plans and capture investment opportunities.
  • Develop a deep understanding of business channels, including OEMs, EPCs, and End-Users.
  • Support Frame Agreement management & renewals with key accounts in assigned segments.
  • Drive the discount policies and manage a level of discount (DOA) for the assigned segment across all product lines
  • Research and track at the earliest stage, active projects, planned investments, and major developments within the segment to feed and to increase funnel. Ensure proper use of CRM. Support and collaborate with project pursuit leaders in Europe and in countries.
  • Define the value creation strategy to deliver differential growth bookings targets in the assigned market segment and identify the required sales campaigns for the channel to execute.
  • Engage with product and marketing leaders to ensure proper deployment of the relevant product lines in the segment.
  • Lead segment sales campaign development, including campaign planning to define target segments, value drivers and differentiation messaging, and outbound channels.
  • Identify target accounts and verify account coverage with the regional sales managers.
  • Coordinate with WA sales & marketing ops to assign outbound channel and schedule campaign. Measure campaign effectiveness and make the necessary adjustment to secure the delivery of the value creation target.
  • Arrange the necessary training for the selling personas covering the segment.
  • Assess segment coverage, identify gaps and propose GTM investments in direct or third-party sales coverage required to carry out sales value creation actions for growth.
  • Engage with key customers and segment stakeholders, identify and map customer personas, and decision-making processes.
  • Attend strategic customer meetings to address complex industry challenges. Gather the voice of the customer for product and solution development and future campaigns.

For This Role, You Will Need

  • Strong understanding of technical solutions and applications in Power & Water-Wastewater and manufacturing processes
  • Engineering degree, MBA or equivalent business qualification required, with demonstrated technical, commercial, and strategic acumen
  • Extensive experience in complex sales environments, including advanced negotiation and multi-stakeholder management
  • Experience with complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders and technical decision-makers
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate clear value propositions to technical and non-technical audiences
