Position: Head of Project Development
Location: Hamburg, Germany
Who are we recruiting for:
Our client is a leading European independent energy storage provider. Focused on shaping Europe’s energy infrastructure, They work with customers and partners to deliver faster, smarter, and more efficient energy storage and distribution solutions, driving the energy transition across the continent.
What will you be doing:
-Take strategic and hands-on ownership of the development of large-scale battery storage projects across Germany.
-Manage and coordinate all phases of the project development lifecycle, including permitting processes and securing grid connections.
-Collaborate closely with senior management, providing strategic input and regular progress reporting.
-Establish and maintain strong relationships with public authorities, grid operators, partners, and other key stakeholders.
-Identify and implement strategies to optimize efficiency in project development and enhance synergies with other partners.
-Lead and grow a team of project developers while overseeing external service providers.
-Ensure strict adherence to budgets, timelines, and quality standards.
-Serve as the central liaison with internal departments (technology, legal, finance, and sales) to guarantee smooth project execution.
-Conduct market analysis and identify new business opportunities or strategic partnerships.
Are you the ideal candidate?
-Degree in engineering, economics, geography, environmental sciences, or a related discipline.
-Several years of experience in project development, ideally within renewable energy or energy storage sectors.
-In-depth knowledge of permitting procedures, grid connection processes, and regulatory frameworks in the energy sector.
-Proven leadership experience with the ability to inspire and effectively manage a team.
-Strong strategic thinking, entrepreneurial mindset, and proactive attitude.
-Excellent communication and negotiation skills when interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
-Fluent in both German and English, written and spoken.
