Head of Hardware Development

Location: Aachen

Your tasks

• Managing entire development lifecycle of HW platforms (PCIe, appliance, smartcards) on a global level, including HW specific software (PLDs/microcontroller, appliance operating system, applets)
• Setting strategic HW tech goals and defining development roadmap in line with business goals
• Making sure hardware deliverables are of high quality and meet certification, compliance and security standards
• Driving suppliers and partners that contribute to HW products & collaborate with supply chain
• Managing resources and ensures team and people development
• Partnering with other R&D managers to align strategic goals and their implementation.

Your profile

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in hardware/software design and development, with at least 5 years in a leadership or architecture role.
• Experience in developing and leading soft- and/or hardware development teams along with experience and ability to influence at all levels
• Deep understanding of hardware design and development processes
• Familiarity with industry standards and compliance requirements (e.g., FCC, CE, ISO).
• Excellent communication skills in English (German is a plus), both written and oral with the ability to convey complex technical concepts.
