The Role
With the acquisition and integration of the Sennheiser Consumer Division, Sonova aims to extend leadership in premium consumer audio and situational hearing solutions. The Finance leadership role reports to the Group CFO with a dotted line to the GVP CHB and is responsible for optimizing the financial performance of the CHB division, which has current revenue over CHF 300 million with potential to grow to over CHF 400 million in 3–5 years. The role focuses on driving YoY financial performance, aiming to move from a low single-digit EBITA to a mid-double-digit EBITA over the coming years. The Senior Director Finance CHB oversees all areas of finance, including Accounting, Reporting, Controlling, Credit & Collection, Sales Analytics, Compliance, and local statutory/tax matters as appropriate. The role manages a team of approximately 40 associates and is responsible for staffing, business continuity, performance management, and skills development. It also oversees financial decision-making to ensure short- and long-term financial goals for CHB and its contribution to Sonova group financials are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the overall financial leadership of the CHB division (Accounting, Reporting, Controlling, Credit & Collection, Sales Analytics, Compliance); manage statutory and tax matters as appropriate.
- Manage a team of ~40 associates, including staffing, performance management, and development.
- Drive resource allocation and financial decision-making to meet short- and long-term targets and improve EBITA margin.
- Partner with CHB GVP and Corporate Finance to support strategic financial goals and business performance improvements.
Business Support
- Business Partnering: act as trusted financial partner to CHB GVP, influence day-to-day decisions, and shape strategy.
- Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting: lead local planning, budgeting, sales, cost of sales, and Opex; weekly sales forecasting.
- Management Reporting: ensure transparency of CHB performance with regular reporting and KPI analysis.
- Analysis & Decision Support: provide ad-hoc financial analysis for tenders and contractual bids.
- Business Accounting: maintain profitability and cost center structures; ensure correct allocations and KPI integrity.
- Financial Solutions: support growth through financial solutions with appropriate risk assessment and corporate pre-approval.
Financial Governance
- Accounting & Reporting: manage local accounts in line with Sonova policies, IFRS, local statutory and tax requirements, including HGB for Germany; ensure timely reporting.
- Sales Revenue Recognition in line with group standards; Opex control and procurement support; continuous cost optimization.
- Balance Sheet & Working Capital: manage credit, DSO, inventory, customer financing arrangements, and general balance sheet control.
- Capital Expenditure: assess capex requests and store openings/closures (Retail).
- Financial Systems & Transaction Management: oversee finance-related ERP controls and drive automation.
- Tax: manage local tax environment, VAT/GST, import duties, transfer pricing considerations; ensure timely and complete filings and liaison with corporate tax.
- Treasury: manage local bank relationships and cash management in coordination with Group Treasury; ensure proper authorization and anti-fraud controls.
- Internal & External Audit: coordinate year-end audits, internal audits, remediation of findings, and reporting of audit progress.
- ICS & Compliance Champion: maintain internal controls, collaborate with Group ICS/Compliance, and support training and investigations as needed.
About You
- University degree in Finance, Economics or Business Administration.
- 10–15 years of financial leadership experience with increasing complexity and accountability.
- Strong business partner mindset with understanding of multinational finance dynamics.
- Experience in global manufacturing or consumer goods industry is preferred.
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive performance improvements; capable of leading organizational change under tight deadlines.
- Tech-savvy with proficiency in ERP and analytics tools (e.g., SAP, Cognos, Salesforce, Navision, Stripe) and digital enablers (AI, data analytics).

- Excellent communication and presentation skills; fluency in English; German a plus.
