Jobbeschreibung

Solos' mission is to capture quality authentic aroma in dealcoholised beverages. Our technology allows aroma to be separated from alcohol so that it can be added back to the non-alcoholic product. It offers producers of dealcoholised beverages the aroma quality that consumers should rightly expect – naturally and authentically – no additions.

The Process Engineer will be responsible for the assessment, development, implementation and continued operation of both novel and established processing equipment in production environments. Particularly relevant are aroma extraction processes, which are applied to dealcoholized wines, beers and spirits.

This role involves developing efficient plant layouts, optimizing workflows, and ensuring seamless integration of new systems into established operations. The position combines technical expertise with project management and a deep understanding of industrial processes.

Responsibilities

  • Process Unit Design:
    • Design and specify processing units, equipment, and systems based on production requirements and operational constraints.
    • Oversee automation and programming service providers.
  • Integration & Implementation:
    • Plan and execute the integration of new processing units into existing industrial environments with minimal disruption to operations.
  • Project Management:
    • Lead cross-functional teams through design, procurement, installation, and commissioning phases.
    • Oversee plant construction efforts – coordinate 3rd parties including, among others, equipment suppliers, welders, and pipe-fitters.
  • Compliance & Standards:
    • Ensure all designs meet regulatory, environmental, and safety standards.
    • Identify opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction while maintaining product quality and operational reliability.
    • Plan, lead and support process development and validation R&d projects at laboratory-, pilot- and production-scale environments.
    • Identify and drive the implementation of improvements to maximize throughput and efficiency.
    • Provide on-site technical support and troubleshooting.

Knowledge and skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 7+ years in process engineering, with proven experience in plant layout and integration projects.
  • Experience with common process engineering tools including flow-sheeting and 3D modelling desirable.
  • Knowledge of European codes and standards and generally accepted Good Engineering Practice.
  • Ability to work with and lead people with varied professional backgrounds and communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Strong English and German language skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to perform well under pressure and continuously changing priorities.
