Senior Data Scientist (m/f/d) – AI / GenAI

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist to design and build scalable AI and GenAI products to transform our clients’ business models and enable their growth. In this role, you’ll combine deep technical expertise with strategic vision to build AI-powered solutions that are scalable, impactful, and business-driven.

Responsibilities
- Design and deliver AI solutions by translating complex business challenges into practical ML and GenAI use cases, from rapid prototypes to production-ready systems
- Build and scale applications with robust APIs, low-latency performance, and reliable deployment in real-world environments
- Evaluate models holistically using advanced metrics (e.g., factuality, relevance, coherence) and implement human-in-the-loop guardrails for safety and reliability
- Champion responsible AI by embedding fairness, ethics, privacy, and governance into every stage of development
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to identify high-impact opportunities and balance innovation with business feasibility and ROI
- Bridge research and production by staying ahead of GenAI advances and adapting them into pragmatic, scalable solutions
- Lead and mentor junior data scientists, and communicate complex AI concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Drive architecture decisions with a pragmatic, product-focused mindset
Qualifications
- You have 4+ years of experience as a Data Scientist and hold a degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics)
- Solid expertise in machine learning, including supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning, with experience in model evaluation, interpretability, and deployment
- Hands-on with deep learning and GenAI, working with transformers, LLMs, diffusion models, and multimodal AI
- Knowledge of fine-tuning models, design prompts, RAG, LoRA, or PEFT, and awareness of their limitations (e.g., hallucinations, alignment challenges)
- Fluent in Python (NumPy, Pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch/TensorFlow) and comfortable with MLOps tools like MLflow, Weights & Biases, Vertex AI, or SageMaker
- Strong skills in data handling, preprocessing, feature engineering, and building robust pipelines; experience with large-scale data (SQL, Spark, distributed systems)
- Experience with software engineering best practices (CI/CD, testing, modular design)
- Additional expertise with vector databases and semantic search (Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS), orchestration frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex), or cloud AI platforms (AWS) is a plus
- Interest in large-scale fine-tuning or multi-agent/autonomous AI workflows is a plus
- Curious, collaborative, and impact-driven; able to turn cutting-edge AI research into scalable, real-world solutions
