Head of Procurement Steel

My client are currently establishing a brand-new and cutting-edge Monopile manufacturing facility in near Bremen – and are in need of a procurement leader who understands the challenges and opportunities of a young, fast-growing business.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead the procurement strategy for our brand-new Offshore Wind Foundation Manufacturing facility in Cuxhaven, Germany—currently under construction.
2. Establish all procurement processes, supplier relationships, and sourcing strategies from scratch.
3. Build a high-performing supply chain for large-scale steel structures, ensuring cost efficiency, quality, and sustainability.
4. Oversee complex, project-based procurement while aligning with offshore wind industry standards.
5. Secure critical materials, logistics, and services to ensure we are ready for production by the end of 2026.
6. Work closely with engineering, operations, and leadership to develop a robust, future-proof procurement framework.

Qualifications

1. Proven leadership in procurement within the steel, offshore wind, or heavy manufacturing industries.
2. Strong experience in setting up procurement processes for new production sites.
3. A strong network of steel suppliers and deep knowledge of raw material sourcing, logistics, and cost structures.
4. Expertise in strategic steel sourcing, supplier negotiations, and contract management.
5. A true pioneer mindset, eager to shape and build from the ground up.
