Overview

We are seeking an exceptional Ruby on Rails developer to join ExoMatter, working on our customer-facing platform and internal tools that support our Materials R&D platform.

About ExoMatter

Based in Munich, ExoMatter is a deep tech startup spun off from the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and part of UnternehmerTUM. We have launched our first product with paying clients like Airbus and BSH, and are on a strong growth trajectory.

What We Expect From You

• At least 4 years of professional experience with Ruby on Rails, ideally with experience building applications from scratch
• Strong testing skills, particularly with RSpec
• Ability to work independently and manage your tasks effectively
• Fluent in English; German language skills are a plus
• Willing to relocate to Munich and work approximately 50% on-site

Preferred Skills

• Experience with frontend JavaScript, UI/UX design
• Experience with job management systems like Sidekiq
• Python experience
• Background in startup environments or small teams

Responsibilities

1. Maintain and develop our customer-facing materials platform and internal tools
2. Implement new features, build interfaces, and maintain existing codebase
3. Integrate Ruby on Rails applications with Python backend systems, including scaling queuing and pooling systems
