To strengthen our team, we are looking for support at the earliest possible date for our German branch based in Cologne:

Tax Manager – VAT & Insurance Tax (m/f/d)

Main tasks

  • Independent supervision and coordination of tax compliance tasks with a focus on VAT and insurance tax in an international context.
  • Comprehensive ongoing tax advice for domestic and foreign companies and branches, including support during audits by the tax authorities.
  • Extensive involvement in tax integration issues following recent company merger.
  • Support for national and international projects from a tax perspective.
  • Contact person for tax authorities, external consultants, and internal departments on tax issues.

Your profile - Professional experience/ personality/ languages/software

  • Successfully completed studies in economics or law with a focus on tax law, studies at the fiscal authorities ("Diplom-Finanzwirt"), or comparable qualification; ideally additional qualification as Certified Tax Advisor.
  • Independent, structured and reliable way of working, engaging demeanor and enjoyment of direct communication.
  • Experience in independent project work.
  • Willing to solve complex tax issues and to responsibly organize processes and topics using modern technologies.
  • Team player with confident conduct in an international environment.
  • Experienced working with MS 365 and tax-specific applications.
  • Several years of professional experience in fiscal administration, tax consulting or the in-house tax department of a company with an international focus.
  • Very good written and spoken German and good English skills.

    The team that you would enrich currently consists of 4 colleagues and is responsible for tax planning and strategy as well as compliance with all tax regulations in the Central Function Tax.

    Your first year with us:

    • 0-3 months: You will get to know the organization, make initial contacts and familiarize yourself with your tasks as part of your onboarding. A buddy will be available to you regularly during this time. At this time you will also have your first meeting with the HR department so that any questions or organizational matters can be clarified.
    • 4-6 months: You become more and more familiar with your role and have completed the majority of your onboarding. Your buddy will also support you during this time. The second interview with HR is due.
    • 7-12 months: You have all the information and tools you need to carry out your tasks confidently and independently.
