Your responsibilities

Package units at Uhde GmbH refer to self-sufficient sub-plants supporting the main process by providing utilities such as steam or cooling water.

In this role, you will act as a specialist for cooling towers, contributing to cooling water concepts and chemical cooling water treatment within international chemical plant engineering.

Your Tasks

• Responsible for large GRP or modular cooling towers (200-2000 MWth), cooling water chemical dosing stations, and hydraulic check valves.
• Contribute to the cooling water concept considering closed vs. open loop systems, basin design, and pump philosophy.
• Define the layout and positioning of cooling tower cells.
• Estimate dimensions, footprint, number of cells, and other design parameters of cooling towers.
• Advise on optimal location of cooling towers in relation to other structures.
• Participate in vendor audits.
• Prepare technical tender documents and specifications.
• Evaluate offers and compile bid comparisons.
• Provide technical clarifications to suppliers and clients.
• Manage manufacturer relations post-purchase, including document checks and technical queries.
• Coordinate information flow to related disciplines such as process engineering, instrumentation, electrical engineering, and construction management.
• Participate in HAZOP studies and design reviews.
• Support inspections, tests, assembly, and commissioning, mainly abroad.

Your profile

• University degree (Master's or diploma) in mechanical, chemical, process engineering, or related fields.
• Experience in processing at plant construction companies, chemical plant operators, or system suppliers is preferred.
• Proactive, clear communicator with structured work habits.
• Solution-oriented team player, adaptable to external disruptions.
• Willing to undertake national and international business trips.
• Fluent in German and English (C1 level or higher).
