While our company is young, our team members bring over 20 years of experience in commercial archaeology. We specialize and focus mainly on large-scale and linear infrastructure projects, working closely with an international network of partners from Germany, the UK, and Romania.

We are currently seeking an experienced and highly motivated Grabungsleiter/ Senior Grabungsleiter with project management experience to join our team. If you have a passion for archaeology, strong leadership skills, and experience managing excavation projects, we want to hear from you!

Your Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee archaeological excavations.
• Manage field teams, ensuring high standards of excavation, recording, and documentation.
• Coordinate with project stakeholders, including developers, government agencies, and partners.
• Ensure compliance with archaeological regulations and standards.
• Contribute to post-excavation analysis and reporting.
• Train and mentor junior archaeologists and field staff.

Your Profile:

• Degree (Master’s degree) in Archaeology or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in leading archaeological excavations/ 5 years for Senior Grabungsleiter.
• Strong knowledge of Bavarian archaeological regulations and standards.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• For Senior Grabungsleiter we are looking for experience with large-scale and linear projects and project management skills.
• Familiarity with archaeological recording systems, GIS, and modern survey techniques.
• Willingness to travel and work on-site as required.
• B2 driver’s licence.

• Full-time employment (40 hours/week).
• Salary Grabungsleiter - 3770 euro; Senior Grabungsleiter with project management experience - 5250 euro.
