Join VÆRIDION as a Senior Test Engineer for our first electric 9‑seater aircraft. You will play a critical role in integrating the electric propulsion system—including battery packs, power distribution, EWIS, inverters, and electric motors—leading the execution of test campaigns and overseeing advanced test rig development for both R&D and certification.

Responsibilities

  • Test Execution:
    • Manage the entire test process, from request through final reporting.
    • Collaborate with design engineers to assess test requirements and develop robust test concepts for propulsion systems and batteries.
    • Execute tests and deliver high‑quality reports based on reliable data.
  • Test Asset Ownership:
    • Take ownership of multiple test assets, ensuring they are configured, calibrated, and safe.
    • Manage and optimize test asset schedules for efficient execution.
    • Partner with engineers and technicians to set up and commission test campaigns.
  • Rig Development:
    • Design and develop sophisticated test rigs and instrumentation in coordination with teams and suppliers.
    • Evaluate test rig concepts using first‑principle reasoning and physical idealization techniques.
    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary specialists in software, mechanical, and electrical design.
  • Support and Best Practices:
    • Promote and uphold a culture of safety across test facilities.
    • Develop, document, and maintain best practices to enhance facility operations.
    • Handle ad‑hoc projects and assignments with flexibility and innovation.

Qualifications

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering (M.Sc./M.Eng. preferred).
  • At least 7 years of professional experience in a test laboratory, ideally within the aerospace sector.
  • Proven expertise in high‑voltage batteries and multi‑kW electrical powertrains.
  • Strong knowledge of aerospace testing processes, measurement methodologies, and calibration practices.
  • Comfortable with managing multiple suppliers for the creation of test facilities (CAPEX projects).
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to plan, organize, and execute multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with aircraft‑level system integration is advantageous.
  • Proficiency with data acquisition and control systems (e.g., Matlab/Simulink, National Instruments) is a plus.
  • Proficiency with CAD/PLM systems (e.g., Catia, SolidWorks) is a plus.
