What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business or similar

  • 3+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management in a manufacturing environment

  • Proven track record of leading successful Design-to-Cost in a complex design or manufacturing environment

  • Experience in industries such as electronics, automotive, aerospace, or industrial manufacturing

  • Problem-solving mindset with an ability to drive cost savings and efficiency improvements

  • Ability to negotiate favorable terms while maintaining strong supplier relationships

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • Proficiency in ERP and project management software (e.g., SAP, MS Project, or similar)

  • Fluency in English and German – any additional languages are a plus

  • Willingness to travel for supplier audits, negotiations, and industry conferences

As Advanced Procurement Engineer (all genders), you are a key member in our organization, optimizing sourcing strategies, driving cost-effective procurement solutions, and ensuring supplier collaboration in the early stages of product development. This position requires a strategic mindset, technical expertise, and strong negotiation skills to support Design-to-Cost (DTC) initiatives, secure high-quality suppliers, and contribute to the overall business objectives.

Your tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Act as a bridge between R&D, Engineering, and Procurement, ensuring that cost, quality, and supply chain considerations are integrated from the early design phases

  • Develop and implement Design-to-Cost (DTC) strategies for assigned material groups

  • Challenge design choices to find cost-effective alternatives without compromising performance, safety, or quality.

  • Identify, evaluate, and qualify global and local suppliers based on technical capabilities, cost-effectiveness, and reliability

  • Utilize data-driven procurement methods (e.g., Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), should-cost analysis)

  • Lead workshops with suppliers to explore cost-saving opportunities and innovative solutions

  • Ensure supplier alignment with design, prototyping, and manufacturing requirements

  • Monitor and mitigate risks in the supply chain, including supply disruptions, geopolitical risks, and raw material shortages
