About the client and role
Our client is a well-established Tier 1 supplier to the global automotive industry, specializing in precision metal components and assemblies. With a commitment to innovation, quality, and sustainability, the company serves major OEMs and contributes to the advancement of vehicle performance and efficiency.
As General Manager, you will oversee the full operational, financial, and strategic performance of the facility in Saxony-Anhalt. This is a critical leadership role focused on driving continuous improvement, operational excellence, and business growth in a highly competitive and fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and direction for all site operations including production, engineering, quality, supply chain, and human resources.
- Develop and execute strategic plans aligned with corporate goals and market demands.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Manage plant budgets, cost controls, and profitability metrics.
- Lead, coach, and develop cross-functional teams to achieve operational excellence.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Represent the plant in discussions with OEM customers and corporate stakeholders.
- Oversee capital investment projects and drive innovation in manufacturing processes.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum 10 years of leadership experience in automotive or industrial manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a senior plant or general management role.
- Proven track record in leading Tier 1 automotive supplier operations.
- Strong knowledge of metal forming, welding, and assembly processes.
- Expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and quality systems (IATF 16949).
- Financial acumen and experience managing P&L responsibilities.
- Excellent communication skills in both German and English.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to drive cultural change.
