Senior Legal Counsel (m/f/d)

Fluence is seeking candidates for the role of Senior Legal Germany (m/f/d). As the Senior Legal Counsel you will have an in‑depth role in managing the legal matters of Fluence’s organization in Germany as a member of the German Legal team which is focused on all contractual aspects surrounding the realization of complex battery energy storage projects. The job includes legal aspects of the delivery of energy storage systems to our customers, managing the contractual relationships with our supply chain, and all sorts of corporate issues in Europe. The role will be part of Fluence’s EMEA Legal Department reporting to the General Counsel, EMEA. The job location for this role is in Berlin or Erlangen.

Your Responsibilities

• Be part of and proactively contribute to Fluence’s success during the entire customer journey from Sales, across Delivery to Services.
• Drafting and negotiating a large variety of contracts, in particular supply, EPC, service, procurement and other commercial agreements.
• Work on international corporate initiatives as well as on a wide variety of other matters that come across the table of an in‑house lawyer.
• Navigate complex contracts including working on contracts outside of your jurisdiction.
• Handle any matter that has “legal” or “contract” written over it.

• have a “generalist background” and gained a minimum of 7 years of experience in drafting, interpreting, and negotiating complex project agreements; renewable energy or energy storage sector experience is a plus.
• have excellent judgment, both in business and interpersonal matters.
• have strong interpersonal skills, flexibility and a highly self-motivated working style.
• have the ability and willingness to act, take responsibility, and drive decisions.
• read legalese fluently but never speak in it; you enjoy explaining legal matters to friends and colleagues.
• are interested in thinking out of the box and seek to improve processes of how a legal department operates.
• always demonstrate impeccable ethics and commitment to compliance and safety.
• speak German and English fluently.
