Overview

Senior Software Release & Test Engineer (Automotive)

The Software (CE-SW) group is responsible for developing and improving the software and firmware ecosystem around Arm's next generation solutions. This means working with processors and other hardware technology not yet available to the public. You will join a team of Software Engineers who share a passion for leaving their mark on the future of computing. Arm is seeking skilled, experienced, and highly motivated Software QA experts to join our Software Engineering group. This role offers an outstanding opportunity to be part of a Firmware QA team transforming computing infrastructure landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Build automated system test solutions to deliver production-quality firmware together with established teams working on ARM solutions.
  • Develop system test cases and test infrastructure for validating firmware to both Arm internal and customer-specified test specifications across various test categories.
  • Define entry and exit criteria for firmware releases in alignment with partner teams.
  • Ensure maximum validation coverage across features and firmware flows by addressing basic acceptance criteria, functional and non-functional testing, stress testing, etc.

Required Skills And Experience

  • Proven experience of 6+ years in Quality Assurance and test automation of product quality system software.
  • Experience in test code development and automation for firmware; excellent programming skills in C/C++.
  • Experience in validation of BOOT, RSE, TF-A, Xen, Zephyr, etc. with Linux-based environments.
  • System testing with emulated and board-level test environments.
  • Python and Bash/Shell scripting are required.
  • Experience in both pre-silicon and post-silicon software/firmware and system validation.
  • Good understanding of computer architecture and micro-architecture concepts, ideally Arm architecture.
  • Proficient with Git, Pytest, GitLab/GitHub, virtualization software, API testing, and version control scripting.
  • A motivated tester who enjoys testing and presenting defects comfortably.

Nice to have Skills And Experience

  • Experience in CI/CD, automation and software release tools.
  • Good understanding of high-speed and low-speed IO protocols: PCIe, DDR, I2C, SPI, SPMI, UART, etc.
  • Automotive software development experience is an added advantage.
