Procurement Lead (m/f/d)

Unlimited, full-time position. Locations: Baden‑Baden or Verl – flexible working conditions available.

Purpose of the Role

As our Procurement Lead you develop and execute global procurement strategies aligned with Riverty’s business goals and report directly to the Board. The role ensures process and cost efficiency, supplier management, compliance, risk mitigation, and stakeholder management across all (strategic) sourcing activities.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Establish Procurement as a central function and build an international team
  • Develop and implement global procurement strategies and processes
  • Lead cross‑functional sourcing initiatives and strategic supplier negotiations
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to drive innovation and performance
  • Source, evaluate and negotiate with suppliers for goods and services
  • Manage the contract lifecycle ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations (e.g., ESG, DORA, supply‑chain laws)
  • Collaborate with finance, legal, and business units to align procurement goals
  • Analyze market trends, risks, and opportunities to inform procurement decisions
  • Drive continuous improvement and digitalisation of procurement processes
  • Mentor and guide the procurement team
  • Utilise procurement tools for automation and reporting to monitor spend analytics and supplier performance metrics

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  • 7–10+ years of strategic procurement experience in an international environment, with a proven track record in supplier negotiations, stakeholder engagement, and procurement operations
  • Strong knowledge of ESG and compliance principles, digital procurement tools, and experience in financially regulated institutions (a plus)
  • Fluency in German and English
  • Strategic thinking, business acumen, and data‑driven decision‑making
  • Leadership and communication skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution
  • Ability to handle both strategic and operational procurement topics with a hands‑on mentality
  • Adaptability, change management, and collaboration across teams and projects
