Legal Counsel (f/m/d) at Leica Microsystems
Legal Counsel EMEA (f/m/d) responsible for supporting the commercial operations, including sales and service, in the EMEA region. This role is the legal business partner for the commercial EMEA leadership team and involves providing legal advice on sales and service contracts, tenders, marketing activities such as promotion and advertising, and contributing to continuous improvement within the legal department.
Location: Remote (Germany) – Candidates must reside in Germany.

In This Role
- Review and negotiate transactions, contracts and agreements, including co‑operations, distribution, dealer, sales and product service contracts, public tenders, consulting, procurement and license agreements.
- Develop and implement standards and processes for different transaction types and contract management, including contract templates.
- Collaborate with legal colleagues from other Danaher companies or external counsel.
- Provide guidance and develop guidelines for the sales and marketing team, especially regarding marketing and promotion of medical devices and cooperation with health care providers, research and medical institutions.
- Support in dispute resolution, litigation and other legal proceedings.
- Accompany Leica and Danaher in EMEA on mergers and acquisitions, from due diligence to integration.
Essential Requirements
- Completed law degree and admission to the bar in a European country (German bar admission is a plus).
- Several years of professional experience in a law firm or an industrial environment (life science experience is a plus).
- Experience in drafting and negotiating contracts.
- Sensitivity in dealing with legal and compliance matters.
- Fluency in English and ideally another European language (German is a plus).
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements
- Ability to travel (20%) within the EMEA region.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in
- Life Science/Pharma business.
