(Senior) DevSecOps Engineer (m/f/d) - SCAYLE Payment - Onsite in Hamburg or Berlin
We are looking for a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to join our Payment team, responsible for the complete payment lifecycle, from initial checkout to refund processing. The team collaborates with internal business units, other tech teams, and multiple payment providers across countries. The two major application domains are high‑traffic, fault‑tolerant API hubs and secure, reliable backend processing engines.
What You Will Do
- Maintain and continuously improve our AWS infrastructure using IaC.
- Automate deployment workflows with GitlabCI and Terraform, and keep documentation of infrastructure configurations and operational processes.
- Develop and implement monitoring solutions across integration, staging, and live environments to proactively identify and resolve issues, and respond swiftly to system alerts and incidents.
- Stay updated on industry trends, evaluate new technologies to enhance platform performance and reliability, and implement security best practices to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Develop and maintain cloud security solutions, integrating security best practices into company processes.
- Manage patching across the entire infrastructure and tech stack to minimize vulnerabilities.
- Audit and secure Kubernetes and AWS environments, identifying misconfigurations and mitigating security risks.
- Automate security controls in CI/CD pipelines and implement SAST/DAST for secure development.
- Scan Git repositories for potential credential leaks and improve security monitoring.
- Collaborate with teams on security initiatives and participate in cybersecurity audits.
- Stay updated on emerging threats and proactively enhance cloud and application security.
Who You Are
- At least 5+ years of experience in DevOps and 3+ years in a security‑focused role.
- Strong experience maintaining Unix/Linux servers.
- Proficient with Kubernetes at scale.
- Fluent with Terraform, and at least one of Go, Python, or JavaScript.
- Knowledge of security best practices applied to AWS and Kubernetes.
- Experienced with Gitlab in daily operations.
- Strong problem‑solving and automation skills.
- Experience with Agile methodology and a proactive approach.
- Strong experience in monitoring and observability of infrastructure (Datadog preferred) and vulnerability discovery and tracking with tools such as Falco, GuardDuty.
- Strong experience in architectural design for cloud‑optimized applications.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
Nice To Have
- AWS or Kubernetes certifications.
Additional Information
Due to the upcoming tasks and responsibilities for this position, it is required to work onsite at our headquarters in Hamburg or Berlin on a weekly basis. Therefore we have implemented a hybrid working model that allows us to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays and onsite from Tuesday to Thursday.
